REVISED ON MARCH 13, 2020 - PLEASE NOTE THAT AT THIS TIME THE CDC HAS ADVISED THAT WE DO NOT ALLOW ANY VISITORS TO ENTER THE HOME FOR THE SAFETY OF OUR RESIDENTS. WE WILL FOLLOW THIS NEW GUIDELINE UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

Due to the recent concerns of the COVID-19 virus, Williams Manor is implementing a plan for limiting exposure to our senior population. It is crucial that we communicate our plan and receive full cooperation from our community to ensure as much protection to our residents as possible. We have been advised by the PA Department of Health to access the CDC website for guidelines and to implement procedures that are appropriate for our setting. Our current procedures are aimed at infection prevention and control practices. In the future, we may need to implement further restrictions and practices depending on prevalence of infection in our local community and/or within our facility.

For general information on COVID-19 please access:

The following actions are effective as of Friday, March 13, 2020:

  • All off-site resident group outings are cancelled until further notice.

  • All entertainers/outside presenters are cancelled until further notice.

  • All volunteers and non-essential personnel are cancelled from making in-house visits.

  • Visitors are requested to postpone visits and consider alternative methods for visitation during the next several months (e.g., video chat via Facetime or Skype).

  • All staff are instructed to follow protocol for not reporting to work when ill and adhering to infection prevention and control measures.

Williams Manor’s Opening Procedures

TO ALL FAMILY MEMBERS REGARDING WILLIAMS MANOR’S REOPENING PLAN

Phase 1

August 15, 2020

These have been challenging and extraordinary times for all of us. And these times have been difficult, especially for you, as you haven’t been able to visit your loved in our Personal Care Home for over 4 months. As a state licensed Personal Care Home, we are required to follow the policies and guidelines prescribed by the Pennsylvania Department of Health (DOH). This guidance has served us well. To date, we have no COVID-19 cases among our residents who are living at Williams Manor (Personal Care Home)…and we want to keep it that way! On June 26, 2020, the DOH provided guidance and recommendations to safely lift restrictions in Personal Care Facilities throughout the Commonwealth with two primary components:

  • Prerequisites, Requirements and Criteria for Safe Reopening - This component defines the capability and capacity that a facility must have to proceed with reopening. This includes testing capacity, availability of adequate personal protective equipment, screening procedures, complete baseline testing of employees and residents, adequate staffing, and a plan for communal dining and visitation.
